The Raccoon Files Vol. 1 • My Julie Mollo Frilly Fanny Obsession and More
Updated: Aug 28
Welcome to The Raccoon Files!
A brief explanation for the new people: raccoons eat garbage, are absolutely adorable, chaotic, and totally obsessed with bright, shiny things, like me! So once a month, I empty my little raccoon pockets right here and show you everything I dragged home.
No themes. No lessons. Only shiny things and the unhinged feelings they gave me. Here’s this month's haul.
** SOMETHING I CRAVE **
Some loves are complicated. This one is not. I have loved Taco Bell since I was a teenager, and it remains the only fast food I actually yearn for — the lone exception being a McDonald's Diet Coke, which is its own religion and we'll get to it another day. My order has not changed since high school, because when you get it right the first time, you don't mess with it: two hard shell tacos with sour cream and an order of chips and cheese. That's it. That's the whole ceremony. People talk about growth and evolving tastes and trying new things — and to them I say, comfort food is underrated.

** SOMETHING CUTE **
JULIE MOLLO FRILLY FANNY!
Pink on pink, worn as a fanny, zero apologies. This thing is cute, it's frilly, and it holds the entire survival kit: phone, the famous lipstick, sunnies — everything a woman needs to leave the house and I will not be taking questions. And here's the part where I lose my mind a little — Julie started making ICONIC costumes for Katy Perry, and I got to go to her studio in NYC and design a custom bag WITH her. In real life. It was beyond fun, and yes, I've been insufferable about it ever since. I went pink on pink for my Frilly Fanny and my only regret is not owning more. Growing the collection is not a want, it's a plan.

** SOMETHING ENTERTAINING **
MARGO’S GOT MONEY TROUBLES • APPLE TV+
I read the book this is based on and loved it, so this show was already getting my full attention — and then they went and stacked the cast like this. I have loved Nick Offerman since Parks and Rec, and to be clear, this is not a casual celebrity crush: I met the man many years ago at a book signing and promptly lost 30 pounds. That's the effect. That's the power. Meanwhile, I fell HARD for Elle Fanning in The Great, so putting the two of them in a show together is essentially a targeted attack on me personally. Add Michelle Pfeiffer and I never stood a chance. It's the story of a woman figuring out how to get her money right on her own terms, without apologizing for who she is — and maybe that spoke to me a little extra this month. I'm not going to unpack that. Watch the show.
** RACcOON HONORABLE MENTIONS **

The HOKA Clifton PRO
The HOKA Clifton PRO in the Frost/Hoka Citrus colorway. Comfy enough that my feet wrote a thank-you note, but let's be honest about why they're here: I shop by color and these look like sherbet and I would eat them if I could. Comfort was the excuse. The palette closed the deal.

That's the haul. Pockets empty. See you next month — same raccoon, new shiny things.
